In Goa, the government, through Circular No. 37/1/2023-GAD III/3993 dated 25.10.2023, has announced certain days as bank holidays in Goa as per the provisions under section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act 1881.

Holiday subject to the appearance of the moon
Remember, on 1st April, all Sundays, and 2nd & 4th Saturdays, banks will be closed. This rule applies to all commercial and co-operative banks throughout India.

If any of the holidays for the festivals of the Muslim fraternity mentioned above don’t fall on the specified date, the concerned government may change the holiday date or grant special holidays for the community fraternity in government service on the observable date.
